Joanne is a proud Metis woman that is happy to share her love of traditional crafts with her son. Her first artwork done years ago was birch bark biting and fish scale art at the High Prairie Museum. She still does the fish scale art and beading after all these years. Her son Travis is a First Nations university student who likes to do crafts in his spare time.
Joanne was raised around Lesser Slave Lake in the Métis way of life and raised her son Travis and siblings in the same manner.
