Arden Herman – Beadwork & Bannock

Arden was born and raised in Fort McMurray, AB.  She is of Dene and Metis descent.  Her dad is Dene from LaLoche Saskatchewan and her mom is Metis from Anzac Alberta.  She has always been very interested in beading and sewing so when her mom started learning how from watching her grandma she knew sh wanted to learn and carry on the traditions.

She makes earrings in her own style but also learnt how to make them on moose hide and she is learning to make moccasins. She enjoys learning new skills and seeing how other artists have their own style of making things. She also makes quilts and other sewn goods that she learnt from a very talented seamstress in high school.  She hopes to continue to learn new techniques and skills through the I.A.M Collective and their amazing group of artists.
