My name is Colleen Tweedle, I am Cree Metis whose family is from Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement in Northern Alberta. My Mothers family is originally from Papaschase Reserve.
My biggest inspiration has always been my Kokum Melanie “Minnie” Blyan. Kokum was a maker of beaded buckskin jackets and moccasins. She taught me to cook & sew before I started to school at the age of 5 but didnt start to bead until much later in my adult life (2013).
I can only hope that you enjoy my work as much as I have enjoyed this journey.
