Damian Abraham – Interim Secretary

My name is Damian Abrahams, and I am honored to serve as the Interim Secretary for the I AM Board of Directors. Originally from Haida Gwaii, I have called Edmonton home for the past 22 years, building deep roots here both personally and professionally. I spent the majority of my career working directly with youth, a path that taught me the true value of advocacy and mentorship. Six years ago, I transitioned into entrepreneurship and founded Indigital Media, a photography and video production company dedicated to digital storytelling. My role on this board brings me back to familiar territory, as I’ve spent years serving on various community and executive boards. When it comes to my place in the community, I’ve always considered myself a mover rather than a shaker. I prefer quiet action over making noise, using my deep understanding of local resources to act as a navigator, helping guide people to where they need to go. At my core, I am a sundancer and a helper, and I look forward to using my experience to serve the members of the I AM collective to the absolute best of my ability. When I’m not working, I am navigating my most important role yet: living as a single dad to a teenage daughter who keeps me on my toes and tests my boundaries at any chance she gets.
